My “real” story
I was born and bought up in a small town in southern India and my pursuit of higher studies bought me to University of Nebraska at Lincoln for the graduate program in Industrial Engineering. After graduating from UNL, I started my career in IT as a Systems Analyst/Programmer at Kiewit Construction Group in Omaha, NE where I helped the company migrate two key mainframe based financial systems to windows based, client-server applications as part of a legacy modernization effort. After a couple of years of progressive growth at Kiewit, I moved to Dallas, TX in 1997 and started working as a technology consultant in various roles that ranged from software development to technical architecture, technical leadership and project management. As a technology consultant, I specialized in object oriented analysis & design, design patterns, distributed computing, enterprise architecture and applied these skills in building high-performance, scalable business solutions for various customers in the Dallas area.
I started working with Intelliun Corporation in 1999 as a consultant from DRT Systems/Deloitte Consulting (Now part of CGI) and from 2000 as a full time employee. I decided to give up consulting career and join Intelliun because I believed in the company’s vision of simplifying enterprise software development as I have experienced first hand how complex it can be. I held various technical and leadership roles at Intelliun in the past 8 years, including hands-on development of the platform, with the most recent role being the CTO of Intelliun.
I am primarily a technologist with a passion to build business applications and software products that solve real world problems. I see technology as a means to solve business problems and tried to apply that principle consistently through out my career. My career as an technology consultant, architect, entrepreneur, and executive, has offered me a variety of opportunities and enabled me to wear almost every hat the industry offers. My responsibilities in my engagements have been multi-faceted, and have included IT strategy and roadmaps, enterprise architecture (infrastructure and application), delivery management, technical leadership, and hands-on development. The early years of my career are still relevant today because they provided me with a broad and clear understanding of software development, enterprise architecture, and the issues faced by technology providers and consumers when the technology initiatives are not aligned with the business goals.
On the personal side, I am a husband, father and a golf addict. I live in Ashburn, a suburb of Washington, D.C., with my wife and daughter. When I am not working, I try to play as much golf as I can. I also dabble with home automation and work on my home theater (which is a work in progress !) when ever I can find time. My other interests include food & wine, traveling and photography.
